The situation around the perimeter of the contact line of troops in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict continues to remain tense. The most violent clashes occur in South-Eastern and North-Eastern direction of the line of contact. About this EADaily reported in the press service of the NKR defense Army.

“Units of the NKR defense army inflicting heavy losses in manpower and military equipment in the direction of Talish village. According to confirmed data, in the direction of the Azerbaijani armed forces lost three tanks. One tank and one support combat vehicle (apparently, it is about BMPT — approx.) the enemy lost on the South-East.

“Overall, in the last two days, the Azerbaijani army lost 14 tanks, more than 5 other pieces of military equipment. The Nagorno-Karabakh defense army has lost 1 tank”, — stated in the message.

The source alleges that on the South-Eastern direction of the contact line continues sharp positional battles: “the Enemy is trying to compensate for their impotence on the contact line between volleys of rocket systems GRAD (MM-21) and 152 mm artillery on civilians, in particular, the town of Martakert”.

In the night of 1 to April 2, the Azerbaijani army began an open attack on the positions of the defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic on the southern, South-Eastern and North-Eastern directions with artillery, armored vehicles and aircraft. Also fighting on the front line, the enemy shelled border towns and places of permanent deployment of military units. Divisions of the NKR defense Army took up the challenge of the enemy and moved on to active defence.

On 3 April, the head of the press service of the defense Ministry of Azerbaijan Vagif Dargahi informed the media that the Azerbaijani side decided to stop unilaterally all military operations on the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In turn, the press Secretary of the Armenian defense Minister Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated that the statement of Dargahi not true. “The Azerbaijani statement is an information trap that does not mean a unilateral ceasefire,” wrote the journalist on his page in the social network Facebook.

According to reports from various sources in Karabakh fighting continues, in particular, Azerbaijan continues attacks on certain sections of the line of contact with Karabakh armed forces, despite statements about stopping military operations.
