Terrible Russian silence has transformed into a devastating Russian response. They us – doubled transit rates, we give them – a discount on gas. They us – overlapping energy in the Crimea, we give them – the return of the Crimean credits. (…) Crimea did not agree to the Ukrainian conditions for the supply of electricity to the Peninsula. 93.1% of Crimeans who took part in the survey conducted by VTSIOM, do not agree to the delivery on condition that the contract would indicate that the Peninsula is part of Ukraine. This proposal was supported by 6.2 per cent, reports RIA Novosti.

94 percent of respondents expressed a willingness to suffer minor failures within 3-4 months.

The poll in Crimea and Sevastopol was commissioned by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The inhabitants of the region had to answer two questions. First: “do you support or not the innclusion of the sales contract with Ukraine for the supply of parts of electricity in the Crimea and Sevastopol, if it is specified that Crimea and Sevastopol are part of Ukraine”.

The second question: “are you ready to temporary difficulties related to minor disruptions of energy supply within the next 3-4 months.”

VTSIOM questioned some 3,000 people — 2,500 people in Crimea and about 500 people in Sevastopol, said the head of the Center Vladimir Fedorov. The error in such a sampling, he said, does not exceed 4.5 per cent.
